The first day of school for the 2026–27 school year is Thursday, August 6, 2026. Banning Unified School District looks forward to welcoming students back for another year of learning, growth, and success.
We are excited to share that the Expanded Learning Program (ELP) application for the 2026–27 school year is now available for families who would like their child to participate in before and/or after school programming.
Community members are invited to attend a free two-day Health Clinic at Nicolet Middle School on August 8–9, offering dental care, vision services, health screenings, food assistance, haircuts, and access to valuable community resources. Registration is required, and participants must be residents of Riverside County Supervisorial District 5.

Join us on Saturday, August 1, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Banning High School Gym for the Districtwide Back-To-School Celebration: a morning of family fun, school resources, community partners, health services, giveaways, and more as we kick off the 2026–27 school year together.

Eligible families may receive $120 per child to help purchase groceries this summer through California's SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) Program.

More than 50 graduates from Banning Adult Education, Banning Independent Study School, and New Horizon High School crossed the stage on Thursday, May 28, during the Coombs Alternative Education Center Commencement Ceremony at the Banning High School Athletic Stadium. The ceremony celebrated students whose educational journeys reflect resilience, determination, and the power of perseverance.
